The student common room at St Catherines College is a mixed use venue used for study and downtime. The low ceilings and a large glass wall made it a very reverberant room. We installed Rockfon Sonar B tiles to the ceiling, Autex Vertiface to the corner over the printer and printed on to a Quiet Acoustics noise cancelling panel.
Watsons Noise Control was engage to upgrade the existing music rooms at St Catherines College. We added to the mass of the existing plasterboard wall by applying a 4kg mass loaded vinyl barrier with a closed cell decoupling layer. We then finished off with a 25mm acoustic polyester panel covered in Autex Vertiface. We rolled the edges of each panel an alternated the direction of the fabric to get a chequered pattern from the one colour.
